Greetings

  • Ohayou (O-high-O) – Good morning. Informal. If you want to make it more formal, it would be ohayou gozimasu (O-high-O go-zy-ma-ss).
  • Konnichi wa (ko-knee-chee-wa) – Good afternoon/hello
  • Hajimemashite (ha-jay-may-ma-she-tay) – Nice to meet you
  • Yorishiku onegaishimasu (yo-ree-shi-ku O-nay-guy-she-mas) – You say this after you say Hajimemashite. It means “please keep our relationship going”.
